Recombtex Limited is a SME Biotechnology company created for the production of high value IP for the biofuel processing industry. Recombitex's interests are in the production of microbes for the bioethanol markets which can reduce the processing costs of waste materials to make ethanol for blending into and replacing fossil fuels.

The company, small in nature, is based in the Bryon Street campus of Liverpool John Moores University under the directorship of Alex Stavrinides. Founded in February 2008 with company registration in July the same year, the start up company is working with the North West Development Agency, MSIF, LJMU, Winning Pitch, Striding Out and a number of other national and local groups for the fast development growth that the company is experiencing.
